John grew up in the foothills of North Carolina. His mother taught academically gifted children as a teacher in the local school system. She fostered in him an emphasis on the power of education, knowledge and a helping hand.
John’s extensive career has been focused on providing trusted advice and encouraging financial success. He assists his clients in analyzing client objectives, determining strategic and tactical asset allocation strategies, selecting investment managers, and reviewing results. He and his investment partners help develop customized wealth management strategies for individuals and families, entrepreneurs, private foundations/endowments and privately controlled corporations.
John has degrees in History, English, and Liberal Studies from Wilkes Community College, Appalachian State University and Wake Forest University, respectively. He also studied Executive Financial Planning at Wake Forest University, which helped lead him into this career after eight years of teaching at the college level. John hold his North Carolina Life, Accident and Health licenses as well as the Series 7, the Series 63 and the Series 65 exams.
